No titanium white

Verzicht auf Titanweiß

Titanium dioxide, also known as titanium white, has been banned in food since August 1, 2022. The European Food Safety Authority no longer considers titanium white to be safe as a food additive because the scientists cannot rule out that titanium dioxide ingested through food is genotoxic. This means:The genetic material can be damaged, possibly even causing cancer.

Although very little titanium dioxide enters the body via the gastrointestinal tract, it is eliminated only slowly and can possibly accumulate in the tissues.

According to the current state of knowledge, titanium white is not absorbed through the skin, so it is safe to use in skin care products such as soaps and creams.

However, we at Sagitta play it safe and have already eliminated Titanium White as an additive from the Sagitta Prebiotic Body Soap . Therefore, these soaps will have a slightly yellowish color in the future.
